Band Names

Hey. I was trying to think of a band name, and I came up with the word "Amaranth".... and I liked the word, and I even checked the definition and had a funny little surprise there. But what I want to know is, how could I possibly pick a band name when there are so many other bands, and unknown bands that could possibly have the name already? There are so many damn bands.
