Nightwish & Paradise Lost (tho' I don't know their latest album),

I definitely want to check out Cruel Humanity, as I do like a bit of Dimmu type stuff, and their MP3s are good.

The last PL album is good, although I much prefer the earlier stuff - i.e. Draconian Times. It is now a bit more electronic.
I'm definately looking forward to see Nightwish. :D

Well I WAS looking forward to Hammerfall, but then Oscar went and broke his arm. So now I'm mostly looking forward to Masterplan (especially if they do a few Helloween covers, that'll be a real treat). I love Jorn Lande's voice and the lyrics are great too. Nightwish's new album is absolutely brilliant, although I'm not as familiar with their older work. Hopefully they'll be good too. I hope Blaze does a Maiden cover or two - not that I don't love his own solo work, of course, I really hope he plays Identity.

One band I'm not looking forward to is Paradise Lost, I just find them a bit, I dunno, dull. I've listened to Saxon - Heavy Metal Thunder (their recent greatest hits album, so probably a good indication of what they'll be playing at Bloodstock) quite a lot this week and they have a great style and some very cool riffs but I've just found them hard to really "get into", ya know. 747 is one of my favourite songs, though, I can't get it out of my head. Ah well, plenty of time, and they seem to be the sort of band you can enjoy even without being familiar with their work. Power Quest and DragonForce are pretty cool but seem to sound quite similar to me - anyone else having trouble remembering which one's which? :p

I'm also looking forward to the new emerging British bands as well, such as Fifth Man Down, if only out of curiosity. After all, some of these guys will hopefully be carrying the NWOBHM torch into the next decade.

All in all, I'm confident that this festival will still be excellent even without Hammerfall.

I voted for Nightwish mostly due to the fact I don't normally like Metal music. Though I am curious about Paradise Lost

I'm a Metal n00b!

Hey guys, you've all missed one of THE brightest up and coming bands in the UK. I refer of course to fulc. You don't get to be second to headlining for nothing on this bill 'yer know!

Check 'em out and be impressed.

I thought you meant either Power Quest, Dragonforce or Mercury Rain!

Seriously - I saw fulc last year and they're a respectable band although not in the same league as the major players such as Masterplan, Edguy, Saxon and Nightwish.

I will probably venture into the darwin suite and check them out as long as they don't clash with Edguy.

I'm paying my £28 just to see Cruel Humanity really - but I'd love it if Paradise Lost were doing a retro set - or if their new stuff is any better than their post- Draconian Times stuff. Will be checking out Waylander too though.

After all the hype I too am expecting an amazing performance from Cruel Humanity. Not sure about Paradise Lost as I've been told they now sound like Depeche Mode, but they might surprise me. Along with Biomechiancal Waylander are the band that I'm most looking forward to seeing in the Darwin Suite.
