Good question. Unfortunately I have no idea.
They were influenced heavily by Fields of the Nephilim and (to a lesser extent) The Cure on that one but as for metal bands....not a clue. I guess there's some similarities in early Opeth stuff.

I just thought this sounds like DODS in a way, if Katatonia had been a Finnish funeral doom band...similar sounding keyboards and clean passages, plus a pretty unique production.
