another band: Apocalyptica (you surely have heard of them: they play Metallica songs on classical instruments; a violoncello is not a violin but of the same family )

They also had violin on Terminal Spirit Disease. On the opening track, "The Swarm".

Anorexia Nervosa has a memeber(Neb Xort) who plays violin, Cello and Grand Piano...these instruments(not synth or keys) range throughout all their albums..I suggest you check out "Drudenhaus" and "New Obscurantis Order" ..Extreme metal art.
