we can talk about bands here that started out alrighty, mediocre or even downright horrible...but molded and honed their sound over time......and came up with better reocrds later.......

.....Id say Anathema......like their older stuff....but I absolutely LOVE thier later releases...judgment...eternity...a natural disaster....!!!!

so any bands liek that come to ure mind....post'em.....PEAC EOUT

I agree with all of the above

also,
Radiohead
Thee Maldoror Kollective
Lux Occulta
Between The Buried And Me
Secret Chiefs 3
Katatonia
Massive Attack
etc.

I actually like most of these band's original material.. But they've still improved over time.

Ulver
Thee Maldoror Kollective
Neurosis
Isis
Cult Of Luna
Deathspell Omega
Alcest
Negura Bunget
Meshuggah
The Axis Of Perdition
Clad In Darkness

Awful---->Great = Talk Talk, Sunny Day Real Estate, Sepultura

Mediocre/Poor---->Great = Radiohead, Bad Religion

Decent/Good---->Great = Pink Floyd, Peter Gabriel, Death, Tool, Katatonia, Anathema, Opeth, Enslaved, Akercocke, Meshuggah, Ulver

all of the above +

Turisas
Orphaned Land (was never bad, but got better)
Scar Symmetry (same)
Symphony X (Paradise Lost > all the rest of their stuff)
Sieges Even

Oh yeh.. Akercocke and Enslaved are other bands.. Essentially, for me, most of the bands i have mentioned.. I like their old stuff anyway..

I'd say, for me, Scott Walker has also improved.. But i loved his work with the walker brothers and his early solo stuff still! But The Drift is just, although this sort of statement seems to be chucked around a lot now, pure genius.
