im working with a band right now that wants me to do a mix for them so ican add that into their studio update video. but before i do all that i want to get the mix perfect. so please, tear apart my mix. no hurt feelings.

side notes. bass isnt supposed to necessarily be heard. it just sor of rounds things out.

and guitars are pod. with a bunch of post processing.

ssl comp on masterbus 2db gain reduction and ozone 5 for mastering.

i just realized i posted this in productions instead of off topic. so please move it.

tbh... it sounds washed out.

there is really no impact at all. i like the guitar tone (kinda). it just seems over compressed and lackluster.


the snare is also weird. it's like, all you can really hear (or, the only impact) is coming from lower frequency content.

I think what tim is trying to say about your snare is that the 'smack' sound of your snare is sort of being masked by other instruments. Try giving your snare some space by cutting out some frequencies in the other instruments.
