It was AU$350 including the US$109 postage cost, so it was US$240, but it has a TINY blemish on the end of the body.

Squier's Classic Vibe series are fucking killer for the price. I've been wanting one of those basses and one of the 50's telecasters as well, they feel great and are an amazing deal. I've never liked MIM Fenders, these are cheaper and way better in my opinion, about on par with Japanese guitars.

I went t GC last weekend and played the Squier, the neck feels SO smooth! They did a really light laquer on it and I can slide all over the place. I plugged it into the Ampeg SVT, the one with tubes and with the matching 8x10 and it sounded great.

that's with a 135 on the... E string. drop C tuning. near the end i turn down the neck pickup then the bridge pickup (or the other way around, cant remember)

Nice. I'll probably get a set of Villexes in there and wire it up with a single volume pot and nothing else (perma 50/50 blend on the PUs), so the bands can't screw anything up by accident. Really keen to hear it with some humbuckers, to add some more girth to that grit.

It's a great sounding raw DI. Maple and Alder really seem to be the only way to go for basses.

Quick question. How old are those strings?
