BBE Sonic Maximizer anyone?

Never used one, but that's what I've heard about them^

I think it's quite funny, studio guys say "that's ok live, but it's not gonna work in the studio" and live guys say "that's ok in the studio, but it's not gonna work live"

There's two in my house somewhere. I'll need to dig one out. They belong to my housemate... he bought 3 and never used any of them, he's selling them I think. Got something you'd like to hear through one?

I think they can be useful in certain situations, so long as you don't move the process know any higher than 3 on a scale of 1 to 10. People tend to over do it and then complain about how it sounds like shit. But that applies to most effects, the right amount and it sounds good, too much and it sounds like shit.

The plug in is actually really good if you use it with the knobs on 1.5 ,max 2 . It`s really a small change that i can`t achieve with a normal EQ. If you pretend to use higher settings then it becames useless thats true.

I've got the 462. Used it years ago, then once I stopped using it, I never looked back really. At first it was "OMG this sounds like a pillow has been lifted off the speakers", but after a while I realized it made my rig sound harsh. I also have the plugin and messed with that a few times. Like stated above, it can work great at times if used lightly. I seem to recall it working well on bass guitar. But then again, this was like 7 years ago so maybe my ears just weren't as trained.
