I think the LTD looks nicer less cheesy and will hold its resale value a bit better.
As for tone & playability have no idea , you should base your decision on that really. How do they compare once they are hanging over yor shoulder on a guitar strap etc . my gut feeling is that the LTD will take to a strap a bit better if an LP is anything to go by but I really dont know for sure .
