I know the most important part of PPIII is the music, but... is there any chance that a certain concoction of malt, barley, and hopps will be available for purchase before or between sets? If not I will just drink up afterward, but if I can be a little bit tipsy during the shows I will probably have no problems if Hansi mis-pronounces dragon as dwagon or dreams as dweams. :D

They have beer on tap at the venue from begining to end BUT.....
If you want to fork out up to $6 a glass (plastic none the less)
your going to be getting hit in the wallet pretty hard...of course it's high point which we both know we aren't that acustom to here in the beehive state.

My recomendation? Drink a few before the show and get a nice buzz....then just get a few drafts at the venue to keep it going.

Me personally? since I'm staying next to the venue, I'll be doing just that....but if I run outta cash on the CD tables... I'll be doing beer bongs between sets a the hotel.....

....I'm sure that will give me one helluva side ache! :D

Just so folks know...

1. I have no input on the beer prices.

2. Those $6 beers were for imports. Domestic beers were cheaper.

Heh Heh, I guess it's true when they say you get what you pay for. Cheaper priced I'm sure as most domestic beers suck anyway!

Oh well. Guess the drinking will have to commence pre show

I seem to recall that they had Guinness which is fine for me. I can either chug them or nurse them all night no matter. The best thing about Guinness is it doesnt go through you like Miller Lite, less bathroom visits and more metal :D

I dont remember if they had any Micro brews.

I didn't see any Sam Adams there, but I'm not really a beer drinker, so maybe they had it... anyway, I was there friday, and I think a Bass was $4 (not sure if that's domestic/ import/ whatever) and I'm not sure if prices vary for different shows... Personally, I went with the Blue Motherf**ker that was $7 and mostly liquor. :)

Everyone that is over 21 is given a bracelet upon entrance. You must have that PLUS ID to purchase booze. Also, there is a plain clothed policeman that walks the event at all times. If you get caught, your ass is gone. The liablity and insurance on this is worth me having you tossed out on your ass for breaking the law.

That said, I only had a handful of people under 21 last time so it wasn't a problem. I have warned the venue to expect more of a problem this time out.

P.S. Krusty, you are shit out of luck for that kind of beer anywhere near the venue.

Out of curiousity, was the "no smoking on the floor" policy yours or theirs?

That is the venue policy. For those that haven't been to Earthlink Live, there is no smoking on the floor OR in the seats for that matter. There is an outer lobby (doors remained closed) for smoking.

I actually prefer it that way myself as well. One of the reasons that I insist on in/out policy is to allow smokers to go outside if they wish (which I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE). :)

I'm glad to hear that I don't have to go 5+ hours without a cigarette. I'm not a big smoker but after consuming a few brews and getting pummeled by Blind Guardian I will need to step outside and have a smoke. As for the beverages, I'll gladly fork over 7 bucks a beer whether it's for Samuel Adams or Milwaukee's Beast. What the hell? It's my vacation! :)

bands, beer, smokes = kick fucking ass. :Smokin:

Can't wait.

Ah. I thought so! Thanks.

More to the original topic, I saw something Friday that might be cool if they did it in November: there was a beer girl out on the floor, albeit to the back of it. Considering the oh-so-long walk ;) and the very long lines at the bars, the prospect of being able to buy a beer right there sounds like a good one, and I'd imagine some of you would agree with me. :)

Glad to hear it. Stupid kids, they should be shot for drinking underage. what is wrong with kids these days.

Honestly though, I wouldn't be trying to buy it anyway. At 7 bucks a pop my money is best spent on hard to find metal albums and what not. I'm in college right now, and with heavy homework going on, music is a very precious thing.
