Hey guys!
I've been lurking these forums for quite a long time now and did my first mix today.

My opinion of it is that it sucks hard. (But everyone has to start somewhere, right?)

The only thing I'm kinda proud of is the sound of the chugging rhythm guitars :)

I hope you guys can give me some constructive criticism :)

I used the following:
Epiphone ES 335 Dot Studio (Yeah, I know, it's not really made for metal :saint: )

Line6 POD X3 (Recording all guitar sounds)

Audiotechnica ATH M50 (Mixing)

Reaper (DAW)

I quadtracked the rhythm guitars (100L,80L,80R,100R) and used two tracks for lead guitars (50R,50L)

The drums were made with Addictive Drums, Kick 50% blended with the best kick on earth sample, snare blended 50% with Andy Sneap's sample.

Lead guitars got some delay and 2dB boost at ~4k to stand out.

And forgive the playing, it's crappy too ;)

Aside from the criticism, I got another thing to ask:
How can I make my lead guitar stand out if I'm playing open chords in the rhythm?

Well, that's it for now, I hope that someday I'll be able to make awesome mixes as the other guys on here :)

And here is it:
