Behringer 2030A VS Resolve65A

well im thinking on buying some reference monitors to my home studio.. but im very short on cash... and im having some jobs very soon... and need some better monitor than the one i use right now...

so i was thinking on Behringer 2030A or the Resolve65A

Wouldn't really recommend either. The Resolvs I haven't tried myself but a lot of people dislike them, and the Behringers are, IMHO, horrible. When I was looking for monitors in that price range, I ended up getting a pair of Event ALP5's: http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/jan07/articles/eventalp5.htm

You might wanna check those out.

The event alp5's are superb little monitors, I was very impressed by them. However, I think they are discontinued which is a real shame unless event are going to release an improved model.

Remember that "horrible" is very subjective. Tue madsen mix all of his better works with behringer 2030a.
Now he also uses a pair of Genelec's and yammy's hs50m but I'm very disappointed about his latest works

yeah i was thinking about yahamas HS50, they are cheap here, but i would have to save a bit more isnt that bad... we dont have many Brand alternatives of monitors here.. so..

Have you asked the guy whether he'll ship to SA? Tell him it's really not hard at all, he can do it at any post office, and you'll pay the extra shipping cost! (I just sold my EMG 81 on ebay to a guy in SA)

Those seem to be the 2030's bigger brothers, 2031, though I'm not a fan of them, either. Also, I checked his gear list:

The 8040's are really nice, we have them as rear monitors at school.

I can't guarantee that you'll like them, but I found them excellent for the price, and I think Gavin from this board also liked his pair a lot. Haven't heard a bad word about them.

Have you tried the 8050's? I'd have no problem whatsoever with paying 2600eur for a pair if I had the money Absolutely fantastic monitors.

Nah, the best monitors I've ever heard are the Tannoys sitting right in front of me (well, my school has BM5A's and Tannoy Precision 8's, but the room they're in is fucking GARBAGE). Still, the ported design always struck me as a monster cop-out that less expensive monitors used to get more bass at the expense of accuracy; if I were to go for a high-end set, I'd want something like the K&H o300's or Barefoot MM27's that are sealed boxes (or just a well calibrated set of sealed small monitors with a sub, like by Blue Sky - or in my case, I eventually wanna plug the ports on my Tannoys and get a matching Tannoy sub)
