Beringer V-AMP Vs POD

Sorry to go OT, but Amplitube deserves a honorable mention. Amplitube is far superior to Guitar Rig for creating a realistic sounding guitar tone.

However, the presets suck.

Ive been using ampilube and guitar rig for some time and I prefer the sounds of amplitube to guitar rig but prefer what you can do with guitar rig.

I do have a question though about the differences between POD v2 and POD XT any huge differences?

Stillborn's recently posted patch sounds absolutely fucking grand, but it seems to reward bad playing with sounding particularly messed up. If you hit the chords cleanly it sounds totally brutal. Just the right stuff for recording some thrash covers.

Don't forget that you also have Guitar Rig. It can pull some nice clean and overdriven tones, but the actual tone generation is a bit unconventional. You'll find yourself blending about 3 or so cabinets and having to voice each one to its specific range to fill up the desired spectrum. Nonetheless if you have the patience for it, it can be worthwhile.

could you post some presets? i'm too lazy/deaf to experiment with combining cabinets n stuff :p
