best acoustic guitar songs

Not completely acoustic, but one of the best mellow songs of all time is Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here". Then there's King Crimson's "I Talk To The Wind" (some amazing instrumental work in that song, hell, that entire album).

And another band you CANNOT FUCKING PASS UP if you're into the mellow/acoustic stuff is Neutral Milk Hotel. In The Aeroplane Over The Sea is by far one of the most life-changing things you will ever hear if you can get into it and appreciate it. And yes, it did deserve it's own little paragraph.

Sufjan Stevens has done some good stuff, in particular the "Illinoise" album.

So yeah, check this stuff out.

Gillian Welch - Time (The Revelator)
Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young - Deja Vu
Radiohead - Street Spirit (fade out)
Nirvana - Something In the Way
Alice In Chains - Nutshell
Stone Temple Pilots - Creep

I second Patience
Would add Agalloch - A Desolation Song but I believe its played on a mandolin, not a guitar.
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here

I am NOT trying to bash Pink Floyd when I'm saying this (I like the band). But they are kind of overrated in some areas. They aren't all that talented, sure Roger can write great songs and David Gilmour is decent, but he is far from a guitar God.

'SISTERS'...by Steve Vai...very technical as usual w this guy but very soulful

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Deftones, they have a lot of cool ones. Of course... you have to not hate Deftones in the first place.
