Well as stated, I can't choose when it comes to lists like this - do you have any idea how many great albums came out in the last 30 years? I merely picked current listens and whatever sprang to mind first when I thought of that particular year in music. If I were to do a list composed of what I genuienly think is the best album from each year, it'd literally take me years - I'm a man of very complex and precise taste. And the fact that I've heard pretty much everything there is doesn't make that any easier.

Still, I don't think you've listened to most things in a number of metal sub genres, which is fair enough, no one really has

I dunno... is it confined to metal or not? OP didn't state either way, I kind of assumed it'd be confined to metal in general being posted on a metal forum and all.

There's always going to be some stuff I haven't heard but I give everything a listen whenever it makes it's way to me one way or another. And it's almost always dreadful.
