Best Cathedral album?

Recently I've become very interested in Cathedral... I already have their first EP and album, which are of course in a different style than the newer stuff (and I love the dirgey nature of those recordings) but I'm interested in getting into newer Cathedral, especially following their superb performance at this year's Wacken. So since there are a number of people who like Cathedral in here, I'd like some advice on what to buy next, mostly.

I have the Ethereal Mirror and Hopkins (Witchfinder General) EP. Their EPs are quite bizarre since they use them for an outlet for their non-album type material.

Ethereal is ok. I don't listen to it that much, but I've heard FoE is their best -- can't wait for the CD-R!

Oh and VIIth Coming got some awesome reviews.

If I went out to buy a Cathedral album today, it would probably be VIIth Coming truth be known. Check out some reviews.

I know LotFP had it in their top 10 for 2002.

Hmmm, I actually prefer their less-doomy stuff. My favorites are Ethereal Mirror, and The Carnival Bizarre. If you like "Hopkins", then those two are pretty essential.

I still haven't gotten into Endtyme, don't know what the problem is. The VIIth Coming is really good.

The EPs are pretty good to, with of course Hopkins: The Witchfinder General being the best, but Statik Majik and In Memoriam are good, too.

I can't remember what is on Statik Majik or In Memorium. I have the Cosmic Requiem EP (over 40 minutes I think...)

I think you would probably enjoy Endtyme next if you like Forest... Caravan Beyond Redemption is probably the closest to The Ethereal Mirror.

But like the man said ^^ all Cathedral rules.

I only have the Ethereal Mirror, so by default it is the best. Some day I'll pick up another one, but it took me 9 years to finally buy the Ethereal Mirror, so it might not be in the immediate future.
