Best cheap 2 inputs for connecting to S/PDIF of Avid Mbox??

I want to get 4 inputs simultaneously through my Mbox 3. So my only option (besides upgrading to PT9 of course, but I'm hoping the 2 S/PDIF inputs will be cheaper) is using the 2 on board and getting 2 more through the S/PDIF input. Never used S/PDIF before so I hope that's right and it will work. If so, what's my best cheap option?

You might be better off upgrading to an 8-channel interface. For a couple hundred bucks more you will get much better pres.

What about this two input tascam interface with spdif? I'm assuming this would work but I'm not certain.

If you need only line in or already have preamps this is your cheapest and best option, you get 2 extra inputs and 2 extra outputs:

I know it's behringer but i have one and the AD DA conversion is very good.

Cheap = around a few hundred bucks. I need it to have pre-amps. Basically used for scratch track stuff, but being able to use it for a snare/kick from time to time would be sweet. More seeing if anyone has done similar and what they would recommend. I was eyeing the focusrite saffire options, but not sure which one.
