I’ve said this before, but I’d like Darkness Descends much more with a better vocalist. I don’t find Don to sound anywhere near as unhinged as he should do to match the music on the record. It’s an 8/10 album for me. Meanwhile ABitNS is 10/10.

I assumed it was because you favor thrash and Darkness Descends is really good. No need to always be so defensive.

Voted Dark Angel but if I had an option between never hearing them again, or never hearing Dark Age's EP again, I'd probably pick the former.

Dark Millennium is better than most of the other bands on the poll as well.

voted darkthrone due to importance, number of quality albums, variety etc. i probably listen to the second and third dark moor albums more than anything else on here though, could easily have voted them instead. love the dark quarterer s/t ofc

i'll give a shoutout to dark tribe since nobody else has and i once wrote their favourite review of IN JERASPUNTA. still a cool, unique ass album.

Yes, and I think Archaic Visions is a worthy endeavour as well. Although it's not as brilliantly unhinged, it wields a different sort of power in its relentlessly bleak emptiness. It was a wise move not to attempt to replicate the atmosphere of its predecessor.
