best free amp-sim?

Hi, I just wanted to check you opinions on the tons of free amp sim VST's out there.

Right now im using the 8505, TSS and Voxengo Boogex.

Has anyone tryed something else that they can recommend?

LePou stuff in general tends to be fucking amazing

I like the tsex30 through lecab also. 8505 is good to me sometimes. Catharsis gets great tones with soloc. Sansamp is cool, but it came with my protools.

See, I used 8505 for ages, and it was great coupled with the Catharsis impulses, but there was always something a bit brittle and digital about its top end. The LE456 is just as aggressive but has a nice spongy top end that sits really nicely in a mix, even when the treble is fairly cranked! Perfect. Can't wait for the Dual Recto one!

exactly why I don't use the 8505 anymore. glad to know I'm not the only one.
