The last two posts are right up my alley! Anyone heard the solo from the song called the dagger? Its the first song off the 25th anniversary roadrunner united album. The song is written by Robb Flynn(Machine head), Drums- Andols Herrick (chimaira)Vocals- Howard Jones (Killswitch engage) and Rob Flynn, Bass- Christian Olde Wolbers(Fear factory)Guitar- Jordan Whelan (still remains) and the almighty lead guitar of Jeff Waters (annihalator)
Epic solo

Jeff Waters is feckin' brilliant, but I can't get into Annihilator because the vocals (on Alice In Hell at least) are crap.

Brilliant guitar player though, as you say.

My particular favourites for metal lead guitar are of course the godly Mohammed Suicmez and Christian Muenzner, but also John Petrucci, Dimebag, Marty Friedman, Alexi Laiho and Alex Skolnick. (Bollocks: I forgot to add Souls of Black by Testament to my original post.)

Actually, metalcore gets a lot of hate but some of the guitarists are really very good. Oli Herbert from All That Remains is insane, as are Buz and Ken from Unearth. Adam D and Joel Stroetzel from Killswitch Engage are underrated and really good, and even Matt and Corey from Trivium can shred like men possessed.

Agreed 100%!! Another good metalcore guitarist is paul waggoner from between the buried and me.(Even though btbam are getting further and further away from the 'core' element) Fucking ridiculous player in every sense, couldnt believe how good he was live.

Also all shall perish's Chris storey! Although i think he left the band, their last release had bullshit leads
