Best Heavy Metal Ballad

dont be ashamed, kevin moore fanboyism is the way forward! for me, he is the best thing that ever happened to dream theater, since his influence on the band's music and songwriting is spectacular...this statement excludes "scenes from a memory" as that album stands as a masterpiece on its own. i always wondered how they managed to pull it off without moore. you know, it's all downhill after that.

yeah, I always shit my pants during the quiet part.
TCATS is indeed the best album ever. I'm the biggest Foo Fighters nerd you'll ever meet :p

I've never been a huge Ozzy fan but for some reason, I've always liked the song "So Tired" off of Bark at the Moon. Very nice ballad.

Antyman....you mentioned "Dear God" by Avenged Sevenfold. Is that a cover of the song "Dear God" by XTC? Just curious.

^ hehe no it's not, would be awesome if it was though. This one is more country and less 80's :)

Metallica - Fade to Black
First song I learned to play on the guitar.
Tried to play it again a few months ago & failed miserably
One of the best songs by Metallica

Yeah, "Fade to Black" is a moving song.

Pantera - "Hollow"
Always moved me. It is probably about losing a best friend.

Blackfield - Summer
Opeth - Patterns In The Ivy 2
Red Hot Chili Peppers - My Friends
Duran Duran - Ordinary World
Guns N' Roses - Patience
The Smiths - Half a Person
Jay-Jay Johanson - Cookie
