I know this is probably not the first thread you see about this.... but with the year 2003 coming to an end I thought we should have one here as well ;)

Here are some releases from the top of my head that I believe are worth mentioning (I'm aware there are tons of other good ones...):

- Opeth - Damnation (simply beautiful music)
- Solefald - In Harmonia Universali (weird but amazing)
- Evergrey - Recreation Day (love them)
- Brainstorm - Soul Temptation (see above)
- Tad Morose - Modus Vivendi (see above)
- Farmakon - A Warm Glimpse (cool debut!)
- Symphorce - PhorcefulAhead (..and the new one's a killer, too)

(- Darkane - Rusted Angel (Re-Release - could not get hold of it before))

as for greatest moments live:

- Opeth live in an old theatre in Stockholm
- Darkane (anytime)
.....and all the other gigs and festivals I've been to where I spent some of the best moments this year with the ppl I love

- Undertow - 34CE
- Brainstorm - Soul Temptation
- Tad Morose - Modus Vivendi
- Opeth - Damnation
- Solefald - In Harmonia Universali

didn't buy much albums this year... :/

Then all the gigs, festivals & parties I spent together with friends
and the magnificent moments @ summer breeze, that let me realize something important...

Then my deep passion for mail art brought many fantastic moments. I enjoy to create something other people can enjoy...

The year is not finish and maybe there will be something important happening in my life on December 27th... :)
It's about something that started 25 years ago and I think it's time that old dreams come alive :)

what was the point in Opeth's tribute to Porcupine Tree? (or to Pink Floyd, since PT are very PF-ish.)
I don't know. What's the point of releasing new music at all, we already have enough to listen to.... Seriously though, it's not that it was something completely new for them, they had tracks like the ones on the Damnation album before. What do I know why they released a whole album with stuff like that? All I know is that it's one of the most enjoyable records of 2003 for me :p
