Best riffs of 2006

Some of my favourite riffage this year:

SAHG: The Executioner Undead

Iron Maiden: These Colours Don't Run
Keep of Kalessin: Crown of the Kings
Thunderkraft: (mid section of ) Majesty & Might
Drudkh: When The Flame Turns To Ashes

... and lots of others I can think of... I think 2006 has been a great year for quality albums actually. Pretty happy so far!

I don't get what the whole deal is with the new Agalloch release. Sure it's good, but my favourite riffs are actually from the first and second part of the "our fortress is burning" 3-track thing.

my fav is prolly at about the 3:30 mark on Saturnus's rain wash me, when the awesome distortion kicks in. Not so much the riff as the effect of the distortion
