Better VST for the price - Reaper 3.75 or Mixcraft 5 or Other?

I was going to buy the DAW, Reaper, but a friend told my about Mixcraft 5. Has anyone used Mixcraft, or can you recommend a better DAW for less than $70.

Reaper is a DAW not a vst... But if ur looking for a DAW nothing will be better than reAper.... Many guys here will tell u the same dont waste ur money on mixcraft... Just go for reaper period.

Reaper kills Mixcraft in terms of how professional it is. But Mixcraft includes a few more extras. Though i think Mixcrafts extra stuff sucks. Reapers unbeleiveably much cheaper too. It works so well, especially for Metal Purposes. Get it haha

I heard there is a Reaper 4 is coming out soon. if I get Reaper 3.75 for $40, how much do they usually charge for upgrades?

Existing REAPER 3 license holders will receive REAPER 4 as a free upgrade, and will continue to receive free upgrades through REAPER 4.99.
