I just got Killing Ground, and its clear that Biff can't pronounce R's - never noticed this before. Sounds quite funny, which is a shame because it's a good track.

First of all, Biff has his original way of singing, sometimes very unclear to hear what he says, sometimes very bright, or sometimes he mixes how to pronounce a word, like in Lights in the Sky, when he in before the solo sings his "Shining in the sky" he pronounces sky as (through the whole song except here) "Sköj", maybe you dont know how to pronounce it but listen to the song, I can't explain it better without ö. Anyway, before the solo he pronounces "sky" "Skaj", really nice. I wait for that moment everytime.

Got a bit off-topic there.. But I like Biff's way of singing, it gives Saxon character!

Unquote,

I like that too. That Biff can't prenounce the "r" I never noticed that. But now we are talking about this, I have a Question... Does Biff has still his own teeth? Maybe he has become false teeth meanwhile or something? or like spanisch people say: has he got kastanjets (kleppers) in his mouth ? My uncle has the same thing I believe: He can also not prenounce the 'R'' due to false teeth. I hope we can ever get the answer from Biff to this highly important matter. I think that this is a horror for every singer, to get false teeth and than sing on stage and then all teeth are smashed onto the balkony-audience, when biff sings the number 747. with lots of energy and then the false teeth land like a 747 into the crowd. And then the audience shouts back: This was not a 747!!

I don't know, maybe he has false teeth, but are they of very high quality so no one will ever notice. I ve listened to the killing ground album again, and I can clearly hear an 'r', so maybe its a hearing problem of the people who do not hear the 'r'????? Maybe somebody must go to the hearing doctor or what? What do you think Becca? Do you hear a quite clear 'r' or not?

Years ago, a band I was in was asked to do the first support slot for Saxon, it was at a club in Bradford (Yorkshire uk), although we had played and been off stage through the main support and when Biff came on stage, and were not in a position to see very well. I heard after the gig that at one point in one of the songs Biff's False teeth went flying accross the stage. He continued in true metal gusto without the teeth. Although I did not see this for myself, it did happen apparently, unless Biff had a big bit of chuddy in his gob.

Anyway, who cares is Biff miss promounces anything, has his own teeth or false ones... he's still the man, and I agree, he makes his lyrics sit well inside the songs no matter how he pronounces them.
