Big dense saturated mix

one thing that called my attention was the "almost solo'd" snare at the beggining, it's like super obvious it's replaced it almost looks like it's the same sample? anyway i like what i hear, just that detail, i'm on my work crap headphones but looks like it's gonna sound big when i get home.

btw, any info on that kick (and toms)? i love it

I agree with the snare, I'm going to automate the snare on this album forth and back, there was no way to salvage the original snare, it sounded good but it wouldnt fit the way I wanted. Also, that OH problem is only on this song, so I'll just automate according to each cymbal that is being played. There's also an annoying problem with the end of each room snare sample, I'm using a blend of snares but slate z4 and at the end of each sample it has a weird decay which can be heard pretty obviously right in the beginning when theres only drums and 1 guitar being played... gonna have to recut that

It may just be me, but the guitars sounded slightly out of tune (the chords). It kind of fits the music, and maybe its just more apparent as there are no vocals.

Cool mix otherwise!

It does fit the style, but the guitar they used sounded the way I wanted but had major intonation problems which I tried to fix to some extent so we had to tune for each chord in some bits, there's still leads and vocals missing and this just the first rough mix so there's still a bit of a way to go. But I like the fact that the playing is good but not machine like tight which was what I was going for =)

About kick and toms, kick is a blend of the original kick (cant remember the drumkit to be fair and I also cant remember which new skin we put in it, it was about 2 months ago or something) but it was miced with one D6, so basically the kick is all sampled but it's 70% the original kick sample and another one which I honestly can't remember right now. Toms are a blend of original and slate maple toms
