I cant find any real answer to this, but I am wondering, how much radiation would be released if one of the Fuel Rods were completely exposed to the air?

I'm planning on doing the same. What organization did you donate to? I want to donate to something that I know is reliable and that will actually do some good. I expect that there's going to be a lot of scams out there.

The American Red Cross. I worked with the Red Cross when I was in the military and enjoyed the experience.

yeah, I saw that as well. The news I hear is just very unsetteling, especially the fact that America has said that they will evacuate they're citizens.

Semi-related fact:

CCJ is the ticker symbol for a Canadian nuclear power company (and they mine uranium as well). I bought 1 share of it for ~42 dollars a month ago. It is worth a bit over 29 today. People are saying this whole disaster is going to cripple the uranium industry.

I almost bought $1,000 worth of Ford stock when it was at $2 a share. I didn't because they were on the verge of bankruptcy and it was just too much of a risk. Now, well, I don't even know what it's at but I'm really fucking kicking myself for not buying it back then.
