I don't hear anything specifically wrong with the guitar tone. I think it sounds great personally. Drums sound real good. The snare and kick sound really good IMO. All it needs is some bass and then it should sound really nice.
I would take the ride down a bit... also this seems to overdrive a bit too much at times. As we are talking about black metal the guitars need more atmosphere! Add some reverb to them. And yeah, raise the bass a bit more. All in all, it sounds quite fine already.
Nah, I wish. Ended up using my Røde NT1a for the main vocalist, then the Røde and another condensor for the other two guys. There is no distortion or anything on their vocals, and they aren't clipping, it's just three guys doing the vox, two of them are dropped back quite a bit and panned like 35% L/R, and then there is the main vocal track up the center, with a stereo delay that pans the taps to 15% L/R. I tried to borrow an SM7 but that didn't pan out.
