Blackstar HT Distortion Pedals - Any good?

Any of you tried the DistX? On paper it sounds outstanding but wasn't too thrilled by what I heard on youtube.

I'm attempting to sell my DISTX... I really wanted to love it, I really did. But the only good thing about it is that the tube looks all cool when it's lit up. It is not "pure valve filth" as indicated, doesn't sound high gain at all to my ears. I'd look elsewhere. For the same price there are a lot of other good distortion stomp boxes out there.

That's what I thought when I listened to those demos. Promising but not really great.

Yeah I'd avoid it. It's a neat idea but it doesn't do what it promises. If I can sell mine I'm going for a Greenhouse Effects Nobrainer distortion.

Kristian Niemann in Sorcerer plays a DIST-X together with a Crate Powerblock and various stuff and it sounds lovely! With that his rig is ultra portable. Always wanted to try one.

cratepowerblock is nice when you do not want to haul your 80lb amp to practice.i owned both and the damage control demonizer was better for me.i have been thinking of selling the demonizer and just boosting the powerblock
