This might have been a thread before i dont remember, but what would be the perfect band? Who would play in it. Dont include yourself, just what you think would be the best combination of talent or whatever. (yes there as been a thread like this, i remember now) Anywhooz:

Singer - Jon Nodtveidt (Dissection)
Lead Guitar and Solos - Mikeal Akerfeldt (Opeth)
Lead and Rythm Guitars - Ihsahn (Emperor)
Bassist - Steve Digiorgio (Sadus)
Drummer - Nicholas Barker (Cradle Of Filth)
+
Keyboardist - Damien Gregori (Cradle Of Filth)

Lead Vocals + Guitar= Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth)
Supporting Vocals + Guitar= Daniel Gildenlow (Pain Of Salvation)
Bass Guitar= Mike LePond (Symphony X)
Keyboards= Jordan Rudess (Dream Theater)
Drums= Danny Carey (Tool)

Well if I were to choose some of my favorite musicians it would be

Vocals: Hansi Kursch (Blind Guardian)
Vocals and Guitar: Mikael Akerfeldt
Guitar: John Petrucci (Dream Theater)
Bass: Jeff Berlin
Keyboards: Jordan Ruddess (Dream Theater)
Mike Portnoy: Drums (Dream Theater)

But something that would actually work together perfect would be:

Vocals and Guitar: Mikael Akerfeldt
Guitar: Alexi Laiho (Children of Bodom)
Bass: Gonde (Ex-Old Man's Child)
Keyboards: Ishahn (Emperor)
Drums: Trym (Emperor)

*Keyboards, Main Vocals - Ihsahn (Emperor)
Rhythm Guitar - Samoth (Emperor, Zyklon, Arcturus)
Lead Guitar - Mikael Akerfeldt
Drums - Flo Mounier (Cryptopsy)
Bass, Backing & Clean Vocals - Vortex
*Sverd could also be the keyboardist, but why waste Ihsahn's talent?

or

Vocals - Garm (Ulver)
Guitars - Samoth (Emperor)
Drums - Hellhammer (Mayhem)
Keyboards - Sverd (Covenant)

Oh wait, thats Arcturus:p (Or would have been if Samoth wasn't incarcerated:cry: ) Oh well, August and Skoll do quite well.

Vocals: Tarja Turunen, Devin Townsend
Guitars: Steve Vai
Keyboards: Derek Sherinian
Bass: Roscoe Beck
Drums: Jeff Sipe

To paraphrase numerous acquaintances of mine, I'd give my left nut to have an album made by that group.

Let's see...

A "metal" one:

Mikael Stanne (Dark Tranquillity) - Lead vocals
Mikael Åkerfeldt (Opeth) - Guitars & backing vocals
Jonas Mellberg (Unanimated, Therion) - Lead guitars
Martin Henriksson (Dark Tranquillity) - Bass guitars
Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater) - Drums
Lorentz Aspen (Theatre of Tragedy) - Keyboards
Pete Johanssen (The Sins of Thy Beloved) - Violin

And a more "rockish" one:

Taneli Jarva (Sentenced, The Black League) - Vocals
Marty Friedman (Megadeth) - Lead guitars
Johan Edlund (Tiamat) - Guitars
Johan DeFarfalla (Opeth) - Bass guitars
Pekka Kasari (Stone, Amorphis) - Drums

Although some of the names mentioned above are not perfect musicians, I think their styles would fit together pretty well to form an interesting combination.

My ideal band would have to be :

Simen Hestnæs - Vocals
Knut Valle - Guitars
Abbath - Guitars
Tyr - Bass
Ihsahn - Keyboard and vocals
Frost or Hellhammer - drums

Not terribly original and completely Opethless. I admire Opeth more as a band than as individual musician, though Mikaels songwriting is genious. Besides, Vortex is a great vocalist.

Here´s a all-round band:

Vocals - Bruce Dickinson (of course)
Guitar - Jeff Loomis (Nevermore)
Guitar - Adrian Smith
Bass - Geezer Butler
Drums - Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater)

A death metal band:

Vocals - Johan Lindstrand (ex-The Crown)
Guitar - Trey Azagthoth (Morbid Angel)
Guitar - Chuck Shuldiner (Death)
Bass - Nefarious (Macabre)
Drums - Janne Saarenpää (The Crown) or Pete Sandoval (Morbid Angel)

A black metal band:

Vocals - Garm (Ulver)
Guitar - Jon Nödtveidt (Dissection)
Guitar - Samoth (Emperor)
Bass - Tyr (Borknagar)
Drums - Hellhammer (Mayhem)

it should be

Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth) on vocals and guitars (electric and acustic)
Simen Hestnaes (Dimmu Borgir) on vocals too
Michael Romeo (Symphony X) on guitars
Johan DeFaralla (ex Opeth) on Bass
Ihsan (Emperor) on synths
Hellhammer (a lot of bands) on drums

it sounds great. The problem is if they would fit together musically.
:err: :err:

Oh but wait!!
Maybe they could fit. If we take Arjen Lucassen to write a story for aconcept album. He' s so great. He could make the lyrics with Mikael.
He could write the basic structure of the songs and each musician shpuld define it's part.

Would'nt it be great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D :D :D

Maynard (tool) Vocals
Dan Swano - rythm guitars and backing Vocals
The chick from The Gathering - Vocals
Mikael Akerfeldt - Lead Guitars and backing vocals
The guy from A perfect Circle - Drums
Martin Mendez - Bass
This band would play not metal but be more of a 70ish kind of obscure rock band .

They would lock thereselves in a sort of music(bio)dome and do nothing but work on an album ,

Of course the year would be 2017 and you could fit unlimited minutes on a disc ,,,,,, the album would concist of 2 sectiond epic songs ,,,,,,,,, there would also be a video on the cd of each member being interviewed , and many other great things ....

Vocals - Matt Barlow (Iced Earth)

Rhythm Guitar - Jon Schaffer (Iced Earth)

Lead Guitar - Kirk Hammet (Metallica - what can I say - the man is a god at soloing)

Bass - Steve Harris (Iron Maiden)

Drums - Dave Lombardo (Grip Inc., Ex-Slayer)

you need to add another "O" to that word god. Hammet is good but he is not anywhere near god or even great status.

Yeah, I'd buy this - with unlimited minutes on disc, this could last, well, FOREVER! Wow, a neverending music-story by our favorite musicians! :loco:
