Blind Guardian album advice?

I have Nightfall in Middle Earth, and I love it!
Which BG album would you suggest I get next?

Same question with DIO, I have Holy Diver and love it, which album should I go with next?

BG, I'd say get Imaginations from the Other Side.

For Dio, does it have to actually be a "Dio" album? If not, and you're just wanting his voice, get Black Sabbath's Heaven and Hell. Otherwise, get Last in Line.

Well, there goes my advice about getting Nightfall in Middle-earth.

Anyway, i suppose Imaginations, though you probably couldn't go wrong with any of them.

I love BG's Night at the Opera, and if you like Nightfall, you'll love NatO.

Well, seeing as you already have "Nightfall...", I'd say "Imaginations..." is the next step. Their latest is not as good, IMO, but it has a few very good songs and "And Then There Was Silence" is one of my favorite metal songs of all-time. Cheese at its best. Overall, though, I don't think you'll get a better BG record than "Nightfall".

As for Dio, I'd say "Last in Line" is definitely the way to go.

well if you want to get a taste of all the sounds of Bg get the live album "Live". Or if not get imaginations from the other side or somewhere far beyond.

I'd say Imaginations or Somewhere Far Beyond. I always go back and forth on which one I like better. Oh, just get both!

You know, the more older Guardian albums I buy, the more I like Opera. Then again, had it not been for that Guardian concert, I might not've discovered I like Sym X. So yeah, get Opera. And I dunno what to get after that..

I feel the same way. I don't even remember which was my first BG cd, but it might have been Nightfall. After that, I started going back their catalogue. The first one I got was Battallions of Fear and to this day I cannot bring myself to listen to more than a couple of tunes out of it. The same happens with every other record of theirs, except for Nightfall and Imaginations. Somewhere Far Beyond might be #3 behind those 2.

I don't know, but I feel they set the bar so damn high with Nightfall that everything else seems to suffer a bit, even though they have tons of great material as the live cd shows. This also might be the way to go. It contains all of their greatest songs. If I were to put together a Best Of Blind Guardian, it'd look very much like Live.
