I've been reading around on here for awhile as shit can get pretty interesting. I just wanted to see what everyone here thought about Blind Guardian and the way their albums sound. I know alot of people dislike ANATO with it's 255+ tracks per song but I've been a fan of this band for awhile now and even though I have outgrown them a little (thanks Nevermore and Opeth) I still like that they retained a really unique style especially given how cookie-cutter power metal has become over the years. What do you guys think?

Hansi´s badass voice and that lead guitar that never stops soloing or doing melodies makes an unique style. Imaginations From The Other Side is the best power metal album IMO.

the Nightfall in middle earth album was 48 tracks guitars and 48 tracks vocals + drums, strings, bass etc so i guess 255 tracks is feasable.

We had Mr Bodo who edited and submixed the vocals and guitars for NFIME to do our drumediting a couple of albums ago so I had the chance to ask him lots about this :)

That's awesome that you had the chance to ask somone involved. As for the 255+ track statement I made, I know at least And Then There Was Silence from ANATO has that many tracks. So if NIME has so many tracks there is not telling how many a night at the opera has. For any of you curious I suggest you check out the songs and then there was silence, battlefield, and precious jerusalem as those are the songs where the layering/stacking always manage to amaze me even years after first hearing them. It's no wonder it takes them four years to record all that lol.

I love "A Night..." and especially "Twist in the Myth," though I honestly could never get into Nightfall, and the only other I've heard is "Tales from the Twilight World," which with a few exceptions is way too boringly speed-metally for me
