yeah, they offered us a spot on the cd too, but to be honest, we thought the money can be spent elsewhere for better good.

besides, we already forked out a shedload of cash to record and self-release our ep. but thats a good thing in the long run

well considering it's not costing us anything & neither did the Album, we're always happy to spend our sponcers money :D

Powerplay magazine is hard to find but WHSmith always has copies.
I read the review and agreed with most of it although the Invey review was unfair.
Yes Invey are friends of mine and I love the music so I am slightly biased but the review was a personal attack on the band members. This is wrong it should have been on the quality of their performance. The comment on Ed's old style guitar was wrong he broke a string so had to change instruments. The comment on Michelle looking scared... well she was this was her first large gig.(did he comment on her playing?? er... no) Claire has a unique vocal quality that extends far above her stature and she always gives 100%.(did he comment on that or her stage presence- which a good front person should have-er.... no) And there are 3 girl members is the reviewer blind. You forgot Flint on drums who is easily capable of playing this type of rock.
I suspect the journo did not see much of Invey's performance and attempted to make up for the lack of quality prose by using a twisted imagination.
I was helping Invey at Bloodstock and as with Bunsnogger we all had a good kick ass time regardless.
Having said that the review is always a personal one and just because 1 person does not like a band it does not mean they do not have talent. The public decide who is right and judging by the views on this site and others Invey ARE good.

Incidentlly they will have a new promo cd out soon! checkout www.invey.com

I'll be checking them out for the first time with Illuminatus on the 7th Feb at Nottingham next year. I'll base my opinion on that performance.

I think we all know that a review is always just another persons opinion, the only difference being that they get to write it down and publish it. I would definately give Nightwish a 10/10 for example, probably Saxon too. Paradise lost would also get less than a 5 in most people's books I would imagine, even though they have decent albums, that performance was abysmal, it only made Nightwish better as they came on afterward and were so much greater :-D

Yes but playing live should be an experience, if you want great musicmanship and that only you might as well buy the album and just sit with it at home. Live should have something more than just musicmanship, it doesn't have to equal Edguy levels but there needs to be something...

I judge purely on my own personal enjoyment. For me a live performance isn't just about technical brilliance or amazing sound (It does help though). I like to see great crowd interaction, enjoyment from the bands themselves and Enthusiasm . Thus I loved Edguy and thought PL were a bag of wank. But that's just my opinion!

And my opinion is always right ;)
