are there ANY ones worth buying that work properly? im tearing my hair out over my now discontinued saffire pro 26 io not working..and ive heard bad things about the profire 2626 and presonus firestudios..

could anyone recommend me anything else?

Well why did you buy a Mac if you were gonna use Boot Camp?

Oh, so you could use both?

Ok!

There, now that we got that out of the way, I can't help ya unfortunately dude! :(

lol wtf man?

plus my love for the command and conquer series.

i've heard something about a driver patch from vista going into XP thats worked great for alot of profire users...did anyone else have this issue?

HAha, I just knew some smartass was gonna come in and say that, so I figured I'd do it first and get it out of the way :D

I have had 2 Profires for over a year now and nothing has ever gone wrong. They are actually the best interfaces I have ever owned.

EDIT: And I am on Vista

I used to run dual presonus firepod's for two years and never had one issue with drivers, drop outs or anything of the sort.

I own an RME Fireface 800 now and it PWNS!

RME would have very solid drivers and low latencies for OSX and Boot Camp. Stay away from Motu in bootcamp. It doesn't play well even with the latest XP drivers.

motu suck. Damn my luck went to GC today to pick up a profire and they had to order one in cba plus i can get it for cheaper in the u.k! no slate drums either...someone up there hates me! im rather excited about the possiblity of not having to buy a new interface and getting my saffire to work though. w00tz

if it works in windows, it'll work in boot camp, there is nothing special about installing windows on a mac these days.

one word of advice - don't use the brightness/keyboard backlight adjustment buttons in windows. very occaisionally they'll instantly reset the system. causing much frustration.

thanks,

Not really if you're on an Intel Mac. There are a slew of firewire bus issues that are still not ironed out.

In a clean bootcamp installation, even with the latest Motu Ultralite XP drivers and Windows SP2 do not work well in my case. I had to roll back to SP1 and even then there are frequent BSODs. Its just not stable and usable. I do question myself why I went Mac in the first place,... just to get away from fucking windows.

haha this sounds exactly like me, but i was so tempted by the use of the freebie plugins like soloC that i thought hey imma go windows again + the odd game of C&C

yeah i've got an imac, and run bootcamp. but i can't use my profire 2626 in windows xp. so i have to play C&C 3 while listening through the imac's speakers, this makes me sad :(

dude, there's a fix for it read above ^^ all you have to do is get some driver thats already in a windows vista computer and update ur fw drivers with it and it should work! let me know if it works for you

can somebody confirm if this really works?
I have the March 08 MBP and XP SP2...what brand interface works with this download? I'll go straight to the music shop and buy a new one!

This works - I have an April '08 MBP and run XP SP2 on it with this driver.

Thanks! ...thats great news...what interface are you using if you don't mind me asking?

also....just downloaded the exe....are there any specific instructions on how to install this driver?.....like which folder should it be moved to or anything complicated or is it just a simple install?
