Just picked this up today for my "et bot tree siddy" and I fucking love this game! If anyone was on the fence about it just check it out, rent it or something. It's pretty boring at first, you fight alot of the same shit over and over again, but after all that it really opens up. It's very addicting, just like Diablo type games, and the shooting feels great. The controls are EXACTLY the same as Call of Duty, you run the same way, melee the same way, aim the same way, etc... I highly recommend this for people who have friends in and out, it's great online and split screen. A whole day of band practice just got wasted because the other guitar player and I couldn't stop playing lol

I got it too. I loved the graphics and "Tank Girl" mood. I´m playing with the chick (Siren).
The only thing that bothers me is how much they exagerate on the looting. There are box EVERYWHERE. You spend more time looting than kicking ass : /

*edit*
After some hours playing this game I´ve changed my mind. I think this game is pretty weak. The missions are incredibly boring, the way you get them is terrible (only a text screen). Imagine a Fallout 3 without VATS, cool locations, voice-work, moral choices, immersive missions, Galaxy News Radio and good characters. It´s basically a game for power levelling and looting.

I've been looking forward for this game for some time now. I lack the money now but it's the next game I'll get that isn't Dragon Age.

Yeah Narco, from what I read, it really is meant to be played with other real people as it's apparently very cold and distant in its single-player presentation :/ Oh well, one less thing to distract me from Uncharted 2 and Modern Warfare 2!

Single player is a little boring, but it's about like playing diablo single player. Online and split screen co-op is the shit though! I'm still enjoying the shit out of it, it's almost like party game. Get a friend over, get as high as you possibly can, kill some shit and pick up LOOTS. It's all about the loots lol

If anybody wants to play (360 version) my tag is still life 1337

I tried to play it split-screen with my brother and it sucked because you pass a huge amount of time just looking at menus and comparing weapons stats, which is ok on a single player but totally lame when your friend is waiting. Not to mention that it's a pain to see the big menus on split-screen (you have to scroll).

Calling this a FPS mixed with RPG is confusing, as it makes people expect something like Fallout3 or Mass Effect. In the end I can't recommend Borderlands to any FPS fan (lacks cool pre-scripted events and epic moments), RPG fan (lacks story telling and character development) and neither for a FPS-RPG fan (lacks immersion and moral choices). It will probably please the Diablo and World Of Warcraft crowd, as it basically puts the hack'n'slash genre on a FPS gameplay. By the way, excellent decision copying Call Of Duty controls.

I feel the overwhelming desire to proceed to start laying into Fallout 3 for being one of the worst games ever made since you mentioned it.

Borderlands actually looks like it's had some level of quality control and effort put into its game world and gameplay mechanics, Fallout 3 felt like it was put together in 5 minutes by a 5 year old and a set of Oblivion mod tools.

Fallout 3 doesn't have cool scripted events and epic moments, story telling or character development, and it sure as hell doesn't have any moral choices that have any PROPER reprocussions. Fuck FO3.
However, Mass Effect is the shit and everyone should buy it 6 times over so bioware gets lots of money for all their hard work because they're good boys.

And anyway on the subject of Borderlands, yeah it looks pretty fucking cool but Gearbox Software's president Randy Pitchford makes me want to hurt things. He's just so infuriatingly irritating. During all the E3 gameplay demos for the Brothers In Arms series he repeats the same fucking bullshit marketing lines about how "I can ACTUALLY (emphasis on actually) move my squad over to that wall, and tell them to suppress that german firetime" and then some Colonel cunt who just happens to sit around at Gearbox drinking all their coffee while Gearbox make awful WWII games goes "hooah, nice shot!" to boost the cunts ego now and then.
This alone has made me not want to buy Borderlands. But yeah I'll be giving it a look. This might be one of the few games I download before I buy seeing as there's no demo (or at least I don't think there is) and I'm truly on the fence about it.

Holy shit I think I never met anyone that clearly hates fallout 3 as much as you . I liked both Mass Effect and Fallout for different reasons.

Bordelands seems like a meh game for me. Might pick it up. Anybody played Demon souls?

Funny, I got the impression Fallout 1 and 2 was for those with discerning intellect and that Fallout 3 was for the halfwits that wouldn't notice all the inconsistensies, broken game mechanics and godawful writing.

and ola, when i get a ps3 for christmas i am gonna be getting demons souls, so if you get it i'll play some with you
