Listening to the mp3 of the new album.I think Vintersorg sounds very good, I keep playing the song over and over again. Only thing I would like to say is they should have brought the vocals more to the front, they are sometimes a bit hidden.
Looking forward to the album anyway!

I could enjoy 5 songs sofar, because I have been on a gig last night, so no time for the rest. But today I will have the time to enjoy it ALL!!!!

I'm quite impressed too, it's getting better and better (loop mode rulz )
but I think Vintersorg fit's much better to it's own music...
I can't imagine how will he sing this songs on Borknagar gigs :?

It takes a bit of time to get used to. I heard the radio broadcast of Borknagar at the Inferno festival last Easter. Colossus w/ Vintersorg is pretty damn cool if you wanna know what I mean.

Well, I love Vintersorg vocals, but sincerily, I can't find anybody on this earth that sings Colossus better than Simen. The thing is that I prefer much more vintersorg way of singin' but Colossus to me is one of the best songs ever, and IMHO Simen can't be beaten, at least on that one, I'm sorry for Vintersorg on that, but I'll give it a chance on tour ;P

He does a decent job on it, though I can't say the same for the black token......Simen, I must say, kicks vintersorgs ass vocally. There will never be another singer in metal who can come close to matching the uniqueness and talent in that man! His work in Arcturus was in-fucking-credible!!! Who comes up with vocal melody lines like that?????!!!!

You better! Dimmu Borgir is a very good band IMO, but it seems a lot of people don't really like them any more. Simen only does some small parts of clean vocals, the best parts of the songs.

BTW, there's a live version of Gods Of My World roaming around somewhere on Audiogalaxy. Catch it if you can, it's really good.

The Maelstrom Mephisto(PEM) (very good as well!)
Kings of the carnival creation(PEM) (Decent vocal performance)
The Insight and the Catharsis (SBD) (very eerie!)
Reptile (SBD) (Good)
Arcane Lifeforce Mysteria (SBD) (not impressive)
Burn in Hell(PEM)(Awesome work by Simen, he does more singing in this song than any of the others)


All in all, he doesn't usually get much time to sing, usually a small section in the middle of the songs (except Burn in hell, he gets like the whole last half of the song).

Definitely check out sympozium at about 2:37, you won't regret it!
