Born Of Osiris Studio Update 2

^Oh, right.
Didn't seem like Annsi was replying to anyone in particular.

Anyway, while the band has yet to have had good production, it hasn't been bad enough to stop me from listening to their music, since I've always dug their grooves.
I mean, shit, you can practically dance to the first 2 minutes of "Empires Erased" it's so groovy.
New dude Jason' got some tight chops too. World class guitar player for sure.

All of the mixes I hear are.. Umm.. Well just listen for yourself.

wowwwww......some people mentioned they were bad, but those mixes are flat out terrible.
That is a great example that good gear does not equal good recordings. There are some kids on here with beginner gear with better mixes than anything on his site....

/end rant

I wanted to go on here to talk about the BOO sessions and how we are tracking the new album but not worth it with assholes like brianhood ripping on the quality of work we do. So I see its a forum has a bunch of narrow minded kids that know shit about studio work.

So if our mixes or recordings are so "terrible" why are BOO tracking and my studio booked out for the next 6 months with label work? Just saying!

Brian Hood just gave his opinion, nothing wrong with that.
Also he knows (studio) shit very well.

So are you mixing BOO or just tracking it?

And Welcome to the forum

Awesome for Brian Hood I also listened to his work and even though his studio is a garage with no good type of acoustic treatment I would never go on a forum site and bash on his work. If the guy wants to make great records with a 003 great, but keep comments to yourself. There is a reason why all the kids with a mbox2 and a laptop are calling themselves studio engineers,it's not that hard to apply a stock Slate drum sample to a triggered kit or use CLA plugs into a mix but I've been recording bands for 21 years and have many releases under my belt of all styles and know how to run a real analog console, cut 2" tape, use outboard gear like real engineers do. So I don't really care what Brian or anyone else on a forum site thinks of the studio or past work. I was told by the BOO camp about this forum and I wanted to share our studio progress & things we are doing to make this record.

So If anyone would like to hear what we are doing to make the third album send me a message and I'd be happy to share.

It's great that you know how to cut 2"tape and all that, but in the end it's the final product that matters.
The fact is that Brianhood makes records sound better than the samples at your site.

first of all, i believe you managed to do what you said you'd never do in the same sentence you said you'd never do it.(you may need to read that a few times for it to sink in).

Second of all, i literally bought pro tools and recorded my first band less than 1 year and 8 months ago. I realize you've been doing this for 21 years, and much respect for that, but i'd love to see how much gear and "acoustic treatment" you had by your 2nd of those 21 years.

Third, the last thing you want to do on this forum is get butthurt and use your first few post to insult other engineers on here. It will almost always end in people shit talking your studio if your name ever gets brought up. Another engineer in your neighboring state of Ohio did this somewhat recently, and it ended badly for him. I'm only 23, but i know not to take other people's opinions personally. You should know better than anyone that "recording quality" is only based off of personal and general opinion and nothing more.

and just so you can't edit your posts later.....

I think this guy's work is perfect for them. Raw as fuck and a bit messy, might actually sound this band sound like HUMAN FUCKING BEINGS on a recording for once, seeing as the other 2 albums sounded like computers playing and not them.

However, what a douche. ^_^ You'll be right at home here.
