Cheers guys. I'm in the search for a boost pedal to tighten things up a bit and to get some aggressive crunch on my hi-gain custom made tube amp, mostly for recording purposes. (my amp could be described as a mix between a 5150 with a Marshall, BTW)
I play metal (downtuned to C#) and the tones I'm after are something in between Testament's "The Gathering" or "Heartwork" from Carcass. That's, of course, only a reference ... not that I'm trying to "mimic" those tones, but I want a crunchy, tight and growling in-your-face sound.
I know the most popular choices are the SD-1, TS-808, OD-808 and the like; however some guy offered me a Boss Turbo Overdrive, and I wanted to know if any of you has had any experience with this pedal.
Any input will be appreciated!!
