So VR Music Group has been good to me along with some other avenues and my wife and I were able to stop renting and renting studios and bought a house! Through a long watching process, we sniped a deal on a 60 year old rock solid home that I negotiated down to 1900 sq ft, 3 bed, 2 bath, for a sweet $95,200! Looked like outdated crap but all the utilities and framework were nearly new. So, this will be my house/studio build thread and I'll update regularly with new stuff. Hope you enjoy!

Some picture links you'll have to click, don't know why. Anyways, here's the studio side now. It's a separate entrance, half underground, 600 sq ft area with a full bathroom. When we got the house it was awful. Bad layout, carpet, just gross. So I gutted it. And that's where I'm at now.

This is gutting! Fire place is going away but last. Ceiling is 8 to 8 1/2 ft tall, not amazing but for what I do, pretty good. My goal was have a facility that matches my income, so if I get to where more is coming in, I'll move again and make BANK on this house. Wiring, ducts, ect that are currently hanging low are being moved to help out that ceiling height.

Ok, after a few weeks of waiting due to us having system installs, we're up and running. Had a septic backup into the room that happened before walls went up luckily. Bought the house without checking the septic, don't do that. Luckily it was nothing big but if walls had been up, screwed. Here's where we are...

Double wall, one inch air gap. Each room on a dedicated circuit with all new wiring.

Still having to work and was forced to setup in my living room. The wife loves it......not.

Congrats on your new place. I just finished installing the air conditioner extraction hose. Bear that in mind before having to drill the walls you're building if it gets as hot as here.

Nuendo, soon to be Cubase. The glare sucks in here but it's the only room I can set up in until the studio is done. NEWS! Halfway through framing a giant hole opened in my iron piping for the toilet/shower drainage. "Stuff" came out. Looks like it's all getting replaced by home warranty though. New pipes today, framing back up tomorrow.
