If you're staying by the beach you should be pretty good. It's always pretty pleasant by the ocean compared to the inland areas.

I went on google to see what the average temperature for May was and it was around 23-25c. That's just like a Scottish summer so I should be ok.

Don't worry about the weather, cause seeing LA for the first time is gonna blow you away. Just flying in and seeing the Hollywood sign for the first time in person was awe inspiring for me when I first visited back in 2004. As a tourist, the place is magical.

Though in the Summer you might need an industrial strength fan to blow some of the smog out of the way to be able to see it!

I heard about that as well, I hope it's not too bad.

I would never get that much time off work at once. Two weeks is the maximum allowance.

Well I have only visited LA in December, therefore I have never seen LA in all of it's horrible, smoggy glory. I really need to take a trip there sometime in August or during Santa Anna winds season to get the true picture of your fine city.
