Bruce Dickinson on Ayreon's "Into The BlackHole"

Okay, all ye Maiden Fans, What do you think of "The Bruce's" performance on the Aryeon song "Into The Black Hole"? Sorry if this has been covered before, but I am currently listening to that song (and the cd from whence it came) and wondered what you folks and the ladies of the band thought.

I bought that entire record, just for that song... Bruce's best singing since The Chemical Wedding... if not before...
The way he belts out and holds that one note at the end of the second verse!!!
There was a rumor that Bruce was going to work with Arjen Lucassen (sp??) on a solo concept album in the same vein as the song... Arjen got a little excited and posted the rumor on his own mailing list... Bruce, needless to say, got PISSED! and there won't be an Arjen / Bruce collaboration in the near, or far, future...

I had not heard that rumour, but it would have been great IMO. It's a great song and cd, as are the other Aryeon material. The new cd is going to include some other big names.

That Bruce's performance is really great, and I also encourage you to listen to the same song played live with Damian Wilson as a singer. It's a very different feel, one of the most moving vocal performances Arjen came up with, I think! It's on the "Live on Earth" CD and DVD.

If you don't know that album, it's a live album of the Star One band, which is Arjen Lucassen + Damian Wilson + Floor Jansen (After Forever) + Irene Jansen (Karma) + Russel Allen (Symphony X) + Robert Soeterboek... They play some Ayreon and Star One material. It's an amazing gig, there was so much magic during it that you can feel it on the video!
