Cock and Ball Torture is some form of grind or death/grind hybird, I don't think they're brutal death are they?
And brutal death metal requires a lot of distortion, probably 2 distorition pedals, I got to try that out sometime.

Brutal Death Metal isn't supposed to be technical IMO.

I think that Brutal Death Metal can be technical, but technical does not equal brutal. For example Defeated Sanity are quite technical but are also undeniably brutal, where as Necrophagist are just a tech death band.

BDM was pretty much started by Suffocation who are a very technical band but you look at Cannibal Corpse and a lot of the DM bands in that area and you dont hear a shit load of technicality.

I dont want to give a massive list, a lot which others have mentioned so to stick with a few personal favourites, Suffocation, Beneath the Massacre, Necrophagist and Aborted (new band I have gotten into which I recommended in another thread). Still if Technical is what you are after they may not fall under BDM so much but Cryptopsy.

I find CbT to be a bit boring.

I find it really depends on the cd; Egoleech (and to a large extent Sadochismo) don't quite do anything for me, whereas Opus(sy) keeps me light, lively, and horny...usually at all times.

I agree with cookiecutter on his last statement.

I bet he's heard cryptopsy, although I wouldn't label them BDM - if you haven't though, stick to the Lord Worm era's (first two albums).
