My vote also goes to Cryptopsy, if you haven't checked them out already.

The first two albums are the most brutal, IMO. The later stuff with Mike DiSalvo is very technical as well as brutal. In other words, all of their stuff rules.

Now, for sheer brutality, check out "Bring On the Dead" by Fuck...I'm Dead.

That is some of the most brutal stuff ever.

I heard about a french band, or from a european country, called "Dhamer".they were supposed to be brutal as hell

i saw The Berzerker live and they weren't that great... pretty boring compared to the two acts that opened for them. (Abremelin absolutely slayed)

check out Origin's new album "Informis Infinitas inhumanitas' and get some Nile too

Behemoth and Cryptopsy are great death metal bands as well

Grave's debut obliterates all other brutal death metal bands without blastbeats. Hell, even their guitartone does that. Suffocation is quite good too and Immolation is good for a listen or two but mainly brutal death metal bands are too grind infested.
