Buffer size when mixing

Track at 64, mix at whatever,..

My machines are fast enough that I don't really notice too much difference in Logic.

64? a bit adventurous? fair do, if your machine can cope with it. i track at 256, or 384.. although, this is just a macbook pro. would prefer to have a bigger mac. haha.

thanks,

I have a quadcore with 4gbs ram, although winXP only uses 2gb, and a 8800GT, I have everything optimized just for audio, every single service that I don't need disabled. And yet, this happens... I don't understand... how can a simple change from 256 samples to 1024 samples make drumagog mistrigger by a few ms ?? Could it be Reaper's fault? I'm going to buy Cubase 5 later on anyway

as i said, i'd blame reaper.. haha.

i don't know what else could be causing it, other than reaper not compensating for this delay somewhere. you should maybe post a bug on the reaper discussion board.

of course, you could.. obtain, a copy of SX3, somehow, and give it a test there? i'm fairly certain its a delay compensation issue with reaper though.

i'd like to know how this pans out.

thanks,

Btw, just an off topic. I'm having a problem with drumagog, I'm replacing the kick from Superior 2, normal stuff, like I do a million times, but this time for some reason, when the really fast double kick parts come, the kick buries, I noticed that even the output is a bit lower on those parts, I've done other mixes where this just doesn't happen, dynamic tracking is disabled btw, anyone ever got a problem like this? It should be triggering at the same volume no matter what, no matter what speed

For anyone tracking with drumagog on a "delay compensated" DAW, remember to use the "(Fixed Latency)" version of Drumagog. That lightens the delay reporting since it remains constant.
