Pops and clicks.. FP10 playback

Also.. the IRQ is shared with the USB Host.. so I think thats the main USB, that gets output to a hub. I have an external harddrive via USB, which I'm storing the audio files on. So if its sharing the IRQ with the audio files and the FP10.. as well as the graphics card.. thats not good. Add to that a USB wireless mouse and.. yeh.

Just created an account on Presonus, needs to be activated before I can post.

you should partition your internal drive and have os and audio partions. Also how fast is the RPM's on your external, really needs to be 7200 or higher for audio. if its a 5400 spee that could be whats causing it

I run a firepod on a 4gb ram 2.66ghz dual core and have ran 70-80 tracks with tons of impulses and sims just barely getting a few clicks and pops at that point, with the buffer on the firepod control panel set to 4ms for tracking instead of mixing

Is the computer you are having the issues on the same computer that you go online with, play games with, download porn with, etc?

trouble shoot like you would with any computer problem. try another cable, power cycle the unit, try another computer. it could be an os issue as well. create a test user and try in that user? or maybe partition your drive, reinstall the os on partition, and try there. its alot of work i know, but its needed. i hate troubleshooting!
maybe try the other fw port on the back of the fp?
try another fw port on your comp. if you have one.

RPM on my external is 5400, but my internal is also 5400 so it won't really make a difference.

Yes.. I have no viruses but its not set up to ONLY do audio stuff.

Gonna do a few more tests soon.
