Burn My Eyes

I remember reading the reviews of this album and waiting for it to come to Oz.....when they hit the record stores in Oz, I picked it up at Utopia - and was completely blown away - the production on Burn My Eyes is still amazing !!!

I wonder if when Rob left Vio-Lence and started writing what would become MH's debut he knew he would be changing the course of heavy music for the next decade or more

Amazing cd and Gareth summed up my thoughts on music in general .. Good (or in this case GREAT) music never sounds "dated".

Fucking love this record. I'm pretty sure Flynn has mentioned Pantera's influence on BME (mainly Vulgar and Far Beyond Driven).

The last riff of "Nation On Fire" always makes me want to smash the stereo with my face.

at my top 5 records of all time PERIOD!

Mine too actually. My top five cd's in no particular order are:

Burn my eyes
Vulgar display of power
master of puppets
rust in peace
destroy erase improve

When burn my eyes came out I kept replaying the first 15 seconds over and over before I listened to anymore of it because that first few seconds are so great I thought my head was going to explode.

In a somewhat related topic, what are Machine Head like live? I was a HUGE Vio-lence fan when I was a teenager, and they were just incredible to see live. No lights, no smoke, no effects, just 5 lunatics who love metal going berzerk for an hour.

"Eternal Nightmare" is still one of my favorite songs of all time, although I hated Sean Killian's voice. I can't stand groove metal, so I can't take Machine Head for more than about 10 or 15 seconds.
