Sorry to be a dick but both BWP and Still life have triggers-- they are just triggered well.
I think some folks are having trouble distinguishing between "no triggers" and triggers mixed w/ mics.

Lol, it's ok dude, I was just guessing, I didnt realise they were triggered. Opeth's drums have only actually sounded triggered to me on the last 3 albums.

yeah....I took a guess. Guess I was wrong.
The sound on Reborn just sounds so natural and....not really well played and tight. Has tons of feel. I actually feel nautious sometimes when listening to bands like log where its so insanely tight that it looses all feeling.

The kick was triggered on Anomalies. Sampled his actual drum, no blending or anything. All other drums are natural. Very VERY minimal editing though, fixed like 2 little parts.

The album before that, Lucid Interval, was all natural. Not that they sounded that great.

BTW - Tracking for the new Cephalic starts in November.

L I sounds awesome dave.

Keep us updated with the new one.

I really like Slayer's "Undisputed Attitude", though I guess that doesn't qualify as metal.

Neurosis' stuff all sounds really good to me.

Bongzilla "Gateway"

Cadaver "Necrosis"

Khold "Morke Gravers Kammer"

Masoton "Remission"

Motorhead stuff

I don't know for sure if any of these are, but they all sound real to me.
