Oh, I havent read any MA reviews on the album since I bought it the day it came out, and already formed my own opinion about the album. I have read positive things in the media, but I figured this was just because Carcass is pretty high profile, and generally mainstream metalheads are easy to please. I just expected the guys around here to be a bit more critical about the album, which I find to be very unmemorable and sterile, despite being proficiently played. Not that I find it to be absolutely reprehensible, but I would give it more like a 6/10, and certainly wouldnt put it in the AOTY class.

New World Shadows is a masterpiece. I still listen to it regularly; it's been on my gym playlist for years. Did you hear the follow up Beyond? It's almost as good...but maybe not quite. Still ass kicking though! BTW thanks for plugging Gorod so hard lately...great stuff I previously passed on but now quite enjoy.

The In Mourning record might be down your alley on the melodeath side in case you haven't heard it.

The year-end list for 2015 is shaping up to be pretty fucking good as well. It's probably not surprising that Amorphis makes a yet another entry, but at least it's not the case with every album, haha.

For the Sake of No One is almost as good as Release, but I think it's up there with never comes/s/t

Hellish Crossfire, I think, is the best "new" thrash band..huge fan

Last 5-6 Against Nature's are all 70s rock style, that's probably my favorite. Fallen Rock is the only one without Brenner singing.

Yes sir. I listened to it on Youtube streaming out of my Bose sound system with the volume at dangerously high levels . Badass. I'm really getting into the techy stuff this year, which is weird because I never liked it that much.
