Buying new HD and sm57.

Does anyone have any HD recomendations? Needs to be firewire and somewhat durable capacity at least 160gig.

Also: it would be great if it didn't cause interference like my current one does .

I don't like LaCie because they use Maxtor drives inside.

I will look for a WD then are they pretty quite? Can you do a test for me?

Can you run a track (DI track) running of that drive out to your reamp device and tell me if you get interference from the drive. This is my main issue with my current seagate drive.

i dont get any interference from the drive, i have an external 250 g packard bell, but its got a seagate 7200.7 inside it. i hate wd for the noise, at least internal ones, im not sure bout the external ones but i dont expect it to be far.

Yeah, no problems there - I daisy chain it with the firepod and get no interference at all when reamping tracks.

Pissed.

Bought one today and it will not mount, tried to reformat, mac will not recognize it ARGGGG!!!!!!

EDIT: fuck nevermind after a half hour it finally mounted. I re formated and I seem to be good to go.

EDIT 2: FUCK!!!! Drive won't work via firewire. Apparently it's a common problem, calling WD tomarrow. I am not going to be happy if this shit won't work. Actually I am already pissed this is fucking with my time.
