like when you have a blocked number (which, for my agency we federally have to have, so a client's roommates, family members, etc, cannot trace the calls they get from us and find out their HIV status) and then you get this service that makes you record your name (and we still can't say where we're calling from, so we have to be all cryptic like 'this is amanda calling from legal services....') and then sit there and listen to jazzcrapmuzic while they decide if they'll talk to you or not.

when i was distributing christmas baskets to clients of AIDS action two years ago, we had to really tortuously explain why we were bringing certain people in roxbury baskets of food and not anyone else. suspicious and chatty old lady neighbors are the mortal enemies of AIDS volunteers.
